The short version
Pick Ezra if price and scan time matter most and you accept that the base scan skips the chest, lungs, heart and breasts [1]. Pick Prenuvo if you want a longer scan and more tiers to choose from, and you live near one of its 28 sites [5]. For either, read the evidence section first, since about 30% of patients in one program needed follow-up [6].

Where they differ most
Coverage of the chest
Ezra's base scan leaves out the chest, lungs, heart and breasts [1]. Ezra sells a separate Lung CT ($399) and Heart CT ($349) for those areas [1]. If chest coverage matters, compare against SimonMed's Core MRI, which covers chest, abdomen and pelvis for $999 ($899 intro) [7]. See full body MRI cost for every tier.
Price paths
Ezra ties its lowest price to Function Health, which lists membership at $365 a year [8]. A Function member who buys the $899 scan pays $1,264 in year one for both. When Function bought Ezra in May 2025 it announced a $499 member scan; that is no longer the list price [4] [1]. Prenuvo prices each scan on its own with no membership [2].
Reach
Prenuvo lists 28 open sites, including mobile units in Buffalo and Portland [5]. Ezra launched through about 100 US imaging locations [4]. Check which is within driving distance before comparing prices.
What the evidence says about both
The American College of Radiology says there is not sufficient evidence to justify total body screening for people without symptoms, risk factors or family history [3]. In an early Weill Cornell program, about 90% of patients had some finding, about 30% needed follow-up and about 1% had a malignant or suspected malignant finding [6]. A May 2026 JAMA editorial argued the companies lack proof that benefits outweigh harms; Prenuvo and Ezra both disputed it [9].
Who each fits
- Ezra: buyers who already use Function Health, want the lowest price, and do not need chest MRI.
- Prenuvo: buyers near a Prenuvo site who want a longer scan or add-ons such as brain or body composition. See our Prenuvo review.
- Neither: people with a specific worry, such as heart disease, may get a guideline-based answer from a coronary calcium score for far less [10].
