Function Health is a US membership service that orders a large panel of lab tests twice a year through Quest and gives members a clinician-reviewed summary of the results.
Our verdict
CleanProvisional clean rating. Function Health charges $365 a year for 160+ lab tests drawn twice a year. We found no FDA warning letter to the company, and we have not yet confirmed its BBB record.
- FDA record
- No FDA warning letter to Function Health among the 68 letters in our tracker (Dec 2024 to Sept 2026).
- BBB
- Not yet confirmed. We will add the BBB rating and complaint count after we check it.
- Best for
- Adults who want a broad lab panel repeated every six months and can pay out of pocket or with HSA/FSA funds.
- Watch out
- $365 is a first-year offer that excludes NY and NJ and renews at the then-current price. Add-on prices (Ezra MRI, Galleri) are not on the pricing page. Galleri is not FDA-approved and had a 61.6% positive predictive value in PATHFINDER 2. The ACR does not recommend whole-body MRI screening for people without symptoms, risk factors or family history.

What Function Health costs
The membership is billed once a year. The pricing page frames it as "$1 per day" and says the $365 offer applies to the first year, is not available in New York or New Jersey, and renews at the then-current price [1]. Function says the membership is HSA and FSA eligible [2].
| Item | Price | What is included | Checked | Source |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Annual membership | $365/yr | 160+ lab tests, two draws a year, clinician review | 2026-10-17 | Function Health [1] |
| On-demand tests | Extra member cost, amount not listed | Tests outside the twice-yearly panel | 2026-10-17 | Function Health [2] |
| Ezra Annual MRI | $999 ($899 for Function members) | 22-minute scan of head, neck, abdomen, pelvis; no chest, lungs, heart or breast | 2026-10-17 | Ezra [3] |
| Ezra MRI with Spine | $1,699 ($1,499 for members) | Annual MRI plus spine | 2026-10-17 | Ezra [3] |
| Galleri cancer blood test | $949 list at GRAIL | Multi-cancer early detection test; Function's add-on price not published | 2026-10-17 | GRAIL [4] |
Costs that sit outside the $365
- Renewal at the price in effect at the time, not a locked $365 [1].
- On-demand tests between the two scheduled draws, at an extra member cost [2].
- Imaging and cancer screening add-ons, priced separately [2] [3].
- Any follow-up care for an abnormal result: our research found no follow-up visits bundled into the membership.
What the membership includes
Members get two rounds of blood work a year, every six months, covering what Function describes as 160+ lab tests, plus clinician review of the results [2]. Function bought the imaging company Ezra in May 2025 and launched a $499 full-body MRI at that time [5]. Ezra's site now lists its Annual MRI at $999, or $899 with a Function membership, so the $499 figure in older coverage is not the current list price [3].
We saw no waitlist or invite requirement on the site on Oct 17, 2026; signup was open [2]. For a side-by-side with the cheaper one-panel option, read Superpower vs Function Health. For a membership that adds nutrition coaching, see Function Health vs InsideTracker. For blood work every three months with coaching, see our Lifeforce review [14]; for a one-hour in-person check with no MRI, see our Neko Health review [15]. Our longevity blood test comparison covers the wider market.
Evidence limits on the extras
Full-body MRI
The American College of Radiology says it "does not believe there is sufficient evidence to justify recommending total body screening" for people without symptoms, risk factors or a family history that suggests disease [6]. At Weill Cornell, about 90% of the first 160 or so screened patients had some finding, about 30% needed follow-up, and about 1% had a malignant or suspected malignant finding [7]. Prices and scan differences are on our full-body MRI cost page and in Ezra vs Prenuvo.
Galleri
Galleri is not FDA-approved. An FDA advisory panel voted in its favor on Sept 23, 2026 (effectiveness 6 to 4, benefit-risk 7 to 2), and the agency's decision was still pending [8]. In GRAIL's PATHFINDER 2 study of 23,161 adults aged 50 and older, 0.93% got a cancer signal and the positive predictive value was 61.6%, meaning roughly 4 in 10 positive signals were not cancer; the test found 40.4% of cancers diagnosed in the study period [9]. The NHS-Galleri randomized trial missed its primary endpoint [10]. More on our Galleri test page.
FDA and complaint record
Function Health sells lab testing, not prescription drugs, so the FDA letters we track against telehealth drug sellers are a weaker signal here. Even so, we checked: no letter to Function Health appears in our FDA warning letter tracker, which holds 68 letters dated December 2024 to September 2026.
BBB record not yet confirmed
We have not yet confirmed Function Health's Better Business Bureau rating or complaint history. This rating is provisional until we do. Our rules are on the editorial standards page.
Who it fits, and who should look elsewhere
- Fits: people who want a wide panel repeated twice a year and can use HSA or FSA money [2].
- Look elsewhere if one panel a year is enough: Superpower lists $199 a year for 100+ biomarkers [11]. See our Superpower review.
- Look elsewhere if your question is heart risk: a coronary calcium scan typically costs $100 to $150 cash [12]. See coronary calcium score.
- Look elsewhere if you live in New York or New Jersey and want the $365 rate, which excludes those states [1].
