How we check

Sponsor a city: featured placement for local practices

A Sponsor a city placement puts one local practice in a labeled Sponsored box on a Wellchosen Health city page, such as medical weight loss in Houston. Placements start at $300 a month, and each city has room for one practice per topic.

Medical review: pending. A licensed clinician has not yet reviewed this page.

A Sponsored placement is a paid, labeled box for one local practice on a Wellchosen Health city page; it is not an endorsement.

What the placement is

Our city pages cover cash-pay care in 55 US metro areas, with one page per topic: medical weight loss, semaglutide, tirzepatide, hormone therapy, or concierge and longevity medicine. Each page has one Sponsored box. A sponsor's box can show the practice name, the services it offers on that topic and a link to the practice's own site.

Examples of pages with a Sponsored slot: hormone therapy in Miami, concierge medicine in New York City and tirzepatide in Dallas.

The label readers see

The box is always labeled Sponsored, with this line under it: "This is a paid, labeled placement and never an endorsement." The box also links to this page, so readers can see how placements work, and how we make money explains the rest. The label cannot be removed, renamed or made smaller. No placements have been sold yet, so for now each box says the slot is open.

Price and availability

  • Placements start at $300 a month. The price depends on the city and topic, and we quote it after you send the form.
  • Each city page topic has room for one sponsor. If a slot is taken, we can tell you which other cities or topics are open.
  • A practice can sponsor more than one city or topic, one slot at a time.

Who can sponsor

  • A licensed practice in good standing with its state licensing board. We check the license before a placement goes live.
  • Accurate published prices. The prices on your site must match what patients are charged.
  • Placements end if a license is no longer in good standing or published prices stop matching what patients pay.

What sponsors do not get

  • No influence on verdicts, rankings or what any page says.
  • No say over editorial content, including prices, FDA letters, complaint records and safety notes on the page.
  • No "recommended", "best" or similar label, no ranking or position in any list, and no placement inside our reviews.
  • No preview of or changes to our pages before or after they publish.

Sponsors are covered by the same editorial standards as everyone else. If a sponsor appears in our reporting, for example through an FDA warning letter or a complaint pattern, we report it as we would for any practice.

Questions people ask

How much does it cost to sponsor a city page?

Placements start at $300 a month for one labeled Sponsored box on one city page topic. The exact price depends on the city and topic, and we quote it after you send the inquiry form.

How many practices can sponsor the same city?

One practice per topic per city. A city with weight loss, hormone therapy and concierge pages can have a different sponsor on each, but never two on the same page.

Does sponsoring change what Wellchosen Health says about my practice?

No. Sponsors get no influence on verdicts, rankings or editorial content. The box is always labeled Sponsored and states that it is never an endorsement.

What are the requirements to sponsor?

Your practice must be licensed and in good standing with its state licensing board, and the prices you publish must be accurate. We check the license before a placement goes live.

Can a telehealth company sponsor a city page?

City placements are for local practices that see patients in that city. Telehealth companies are covered in our provider reviews under the same verdict rule as everyone else.
