How we check

Enclomiphene: cost, online access and legal status

Enclomiphene is not an FDA-approved drug; telehealth companies sell it as a compounded medication, and Hims's own testosterone page says it is available only through compounding pharmacies or clinical trials [1]. Hims lists it from $99 a month on a 10-month plan paid up front, with 3- and 5-month plans also offered [1].

Medical review: pending. A licensed clinician has not yet reviewed this page.

Enclomiphene is a drug some telehealth and men's health clinics prescribe for low testosterone; it is not FDA-approved, and in the US it is supplied by compounding pharmacies.

FDA's position on compounding enclomiphene

Is enclomiphene FDA-approved?

No. Even companies that sell it say so: Hims's page states that enclomiphene is not FDA-approved and is available only through compounding pharmacies or clinical trials [1]. Compounded drugs are not FDA-approved, and FDA does not review them for safety, effectiveness or quality [12]. Biote, a hormone pellet company that owns its own compounding outsourcing facility, puts it this way in its SEC annual report: "FDA does not verify the safety or effectiveness of compounded products" [6].

What we could not confirm

We did not find an FDA statement specific to enclomiphene, or confirm its status on FDA's bulk-substance lists that govern what 503A pharmacies may compound. So FDA's position on compounding enclomiphene is unconfirmed, and we cannot say whether pharmacies may lawfully compound it. Ask the prescriber which pharmacy makes it and on what legal basis.

Buying enclomiphene online

Online sellers include Hims, TRT Nation and Maximus [1][2][3]. We do not recommend Hims: its parent company faces a July 2026 FTC, Utah and Los Angeles County lawsuit over subscriptions, cancellation and health data sharing [7]. Maximus received an FDA warning letter in June 2026 over compounded GLP-1 claims [8]. Compare programs on online TRT clinics and read our Hims testosterone review.

Do not buy enclomiphene sold "for research use only" or without a prescription. Those products skip both a prescriber and a licensed pharmacy, so no one accountable stands behind what is in the bottle. If you and a prescriber choose it, it should come by prescription from a licensed clinician and be filled by a licensed pharmacy you can look up with your state board [9].

Enclomiphene reviews: what we can and cannot tell you

We do not publish user testimonials, and our research did not confirm trial results for enclomiphene that we could cite. So we cannot tell you how well it works. For FDA-approved testosterone, the evidence is much larger: the TRAVERSE trial followed 5,204 men [10]. See enclomiphene vs TRT for a side-by-side view.

Questions to ask before you start

  • Why enclomiphene rather than an FDA-approved testosterone product?
  • Which pharmacy compounds it, and is it a 503A or 503B pharmacy?
  • What labs come first and how often are they repeated? The AUA confirms low testosterone with two tests below 300 ng/dL [11].
  • What is the total cost, and can I stop without losing prepaid months?

No dosing on this page

Enclomiphene has no FDA label, so there is no approved dose. Follow only your prescriber's instructions and the pharmacy label, and ask the pharmacist about anything unclear.

Questions people ask

Is enclomiphene FDA-approved?

No. It is sold as a compounded drug, and even Hims's page says it is not FDA-approved and is available only through compounding pharmacies or clinical trials [1].

Is enclomiphene legal?

It is sold by prescription through compounding pharmacies [1]. We could not confirm FDA's position on whether pharmacies may compound it, so its legal status is unconfirmed. Products sold "for research use only" skip both a prescriber and a licensed pharmacy.

How much does enclomiphene cost?

Hims lists it from $99 a month on a 10-month plan paid up front (October 17, 2026) [1]. TRT Nation, Maximus and Gameday offer it but do not list a separate price [2][3][4].

Can I get enclomiphene online?

Yes, from telehealth programs including TRT Nation and Maximus [2][3]. We avoid Hims because of a July 2026 FTC, Utah and Los Angeles County lawsuit over subscriptions and cancellation [7].

What dose of enclomiphene should I take?

There is no FDA-approved dose because enclomiphene has no FDA label. Follow your prescriber's instructions and the pharmacy label, and ask your pharmacist about anything unclear.

Does insurance cover enclomiphene?

We found no source on coverage. Hims says its enclomiphene is not HSA/FSA eligible [1].
