- Did they test total testosterone twice, and was it below 300 ng/dL, as the AUA algorithm uses [15]?
- Are they prescribing an FDA-approved product, or a compounded cream or enclomiphene? Get the answer in writing.
- How will they monitor blood pressure and blood counts?

Hormone safety
Estrogen-alone therapy keeps its endometrial cancer boxed warning for people with a uterus [7]. Testosterone can raise blood pressure [9]; in TRAVERSE, pulmonary embolism was more common with testosterone (0.9% vs 0.5%) [17]. Testosterone gel can transfer to children by touch [18]. Call 911 for chest pain, sudden breathlessness or stroke symptoms.
