HRT clinics by city and state
Each city guide covers local health systems, state rules and what hormone therapy costs there. The last column links the state board where you can look up any prescriber's license and discipline record [1].

Four kinds of places that prescribe HRT
- Your OB-GYN or primary care clinician. Often the cheapest route if you have insurance, since plans may cover the visit [5].
- A menopause practitioner. The Menopause Society lists clinicians who hold its MSCP menopause credential in its online directory [3][6]. See how to find a menopause specialist.
- Hormone and wellness clinics. Many sell compounded creams or pellets. Those are not FDA-approved; read bioidentical hormones and pellet costs before you book.
- Telehealth. Midi Health, Evernow, Alloy and Gennev prescribe online. Compare them on online HRT providers.
Check a clinic before you book
- Look up the prescriber on the state board site in the table above.
- Ask which products they prescribe. A National Academies review said compounded bioidentical hormones should be limited to people allergic to an ingredient in an approved product or who need a dosage form that is not available [7].
- Ask which pharmacy fills the prescription. State pharmacy boards are listed by the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy [8].
- Ask for the full price in writing: visit, labs, membership and drug.
- For a telehealth company, search our FDA warning letter tracker and our provider reviews.
What an HRT visit costs
Published prices are rare for local clinics. The telehealth numbers we confirmed on October 17, 2026: Midi Health charges $250 for a first visit and $150 for a return visit [2], and Evernow's membership starts at $35 a month [9]. The drug is separate. See the full HRT cost breakdown.
Signs a clinic may not be a good fit
- It offers only pellets or only compounded hormones, with no FDA-approved option.
- It will not tell you the total price until you pay a deposit.
- It asks you to prepay months of treatment up front.
- It cannot tell you which pharmacy makes or fills your hormones.

Questions people ask
How do I find hormone replacement therapy near me?
How do I check if an HRT doctor is licensed?
Search the clinician's name on your state medical board's license lookup. The Federation of State Medical Boards keeps a directory of every board [1].
Can I get HRT online instead of in person?
What should I ask an HRT clinic before booking?
Ask whether they prescribe FDA-approved products or compounded ones, which pharmacy fills them, and the total price including visits, labs and membership. A National Academies review advised limiting compounded bioidentical hormones to specific medical needs [7].
Does insurance pay for an HRT clinic visit?
Often, depending on the plan. Midi Health is in network with most PPO plans but treats Medicare as out of network and does not take Medicaid [2].
