Why the rating is avoid

Our rule rates a provider avoid when a regulator has taken action against it. The July 2026 lawsuit by the FTC, Utah and Los Angeles County, filed in federal court in California, alleges that Hims & Hers enrolled customers in subscriptions without clear disclosure, made cancellation hard while charges continued, and shared health data with Meta and Snap for advertising [1]. These are allegations, not findings. They go to billing and privacy, which matter for any Hers program, including menopause.

The FDA letter

On Sep 9 2025, FDA sent a warning letter to Hims & Hers Health dba Hers. It cited the claims "Weekly injectable GLP-1 with the same active ingredient as Ozempic and Wegovy" and "Clinically proven ingredients" for compounded semaglutide on forhers.com [2]. The letter does not involve the menopause products. On Feb 6 2026, FDA named Hims & Hers in a press announcement about non-FDA-approved GLP-1 drugs [4]. Our FDA warning letter tracker lists every letter in this wave.

What the menopause kit includes

Hers offers a menopause kit that may include an estradiol pill or patch, a progesterone pill and estradiol vaginal cream, as the provider decides [3]. The program advertises a free consult and says no insurance is required, but it is not available in every state [3]. These are standard hormones that are also sold as low-cost generics at retail pharmacies.
