Left out of the fridge: how much time you have

A single-dose pen gets 28 days outside the refrigerator, as long as the room stays between 46°F and 86°F and the pen stays boxed ^[1]. So a pen forgotten on the counter overnight is still well inside its window. FlexTouch runs on a different clock: 56 days counted from the first injection, whether you keep it cool or at 59°F to 86°F ^[1].

Hot car, power cut or freezer mishap

Heat over 86°F, direct light and freezing all rule out a single-dose pen ^[2]. That covers a pen left anywhere hotter than 86°F, and a pen that froze stays unusable after it thaws. Call your pharmacy and ask how to get a replacement, and do not inject a pen you are unsure about.

Past the expiration date

The label offers no data on pens or tablets used after their expiry or discard date, so neither safety nor strength can be judged. Skip them. If a gap in supply means missed shots, remember that two or more missed weeks in a row may mean restarting lower ^[2].

Planning a trip with Wegovy

Work backward from the limits. A boxed single-dose pen covers up to 28 days at temperatures up to 86°F, an opened FlexTouch covers up to 56 days, and the pill rides along at room temperature in its own bottle ^[1]. A cooler is not strictly required, but heat above 86°F and freezing both end a pen's use ^[2].

TSA screening and customs rules for injectable drugs were outside what we could check for this update. Pack the pharmacy label or a copy of your prescription, and ask your airline and the country you are visiting what they require.

Questions that land on this page

Is Wegovy good for your heart? FDA approved it to lower the chance of cardiovascular death, heart attack and stroke in adults with cardiovascular disease and obesity or overweight. Hot flashes or menopause? Hot flashes were not among the Wegovy reactions we read, and menopause is not an approved use. Ice cream or any other food? No food list exists in the label.
