MDVIP review: annual fee, what it covers and doctors near me

MDVIP does not publish one national fee: it says the annual fee varies by locale and physician and is shown on each physician's page [1]. Three physician pages we read on Oct 17, 2026 listed $2,250 a year in Phoenix, $2,400 in Arlington, Texas, and $2,930 plus a separate $70 lab charge in Bronxville, New York [2] [3] [4].

Medical review: pending. A licensed clinician has not yet reviewed this page.

MDVIP is a network of concierge primary care physicians who charge an annual membership fee for a wellness program while patients keep Medicare or private insurance for other care.

A sample of three, not a network-wide range. MDVIP publishes each doctor's fee on that doctor's page.

MDVIP's own consumer article puts typical concierge fees at $2,000 to $5,000 a year, with some at $10,000 or more; the article is undated and cites no survey [6]. For the wider market see concierge medicine cost.

What the fee pays for, and what it does not

MDVIP says the fee pays for its annual Wellness Program: advanced screenings and diagnostic tests not typically covered by insurance. Patients keep Medicare or commercial insurance for other care [1]. That means office visits and covered tests outside the program are still billed to your plan.

Medicare rules that apply

  • Medicare does not cover concierge membership fees; you pay the full fee [5].
  • A doctor who accepts Medicare assignment cannot charge the membership fee for Medicare-covered services [5].
  • If the fee covers items Medicare will not pay for, the doctor must give you an Advance Beneficiary Notice listing them [5].

More on how this works with Medicare in concierge medicine and Medicare.

Paying with an FSA or HSA

MDVIP says the fee may be reimbursed through an FSA, MSA or similar account after you receive the annual wellness services, and that it cannot be paid with an FSA debit or credit card [7]. That is MDVIP's position, not IRS guidance. IRS Notice 2026-5 lets HSA funds pay direct primary care fees up to $150 a month, but an arrangement that bills insurance separately does not qualify for that rule [8]. MDVIP physicians bill insurance for other care [1], so do not assume the HSA rule for direct primary care covers an MDVIP fee.

Finding an MDVIP doctor near you

MDVIP lists each physician's fee on that physician's page on mdvip.com [1], so the fee you will pay depends on the doctor you pick. Our city guides list local concierge options and published fees, for example Phoenix, Dallas and New York City. Our concierge doctor finder guide covers what to ask before signing.

Record check: FDA letters and BBB

BBB record not yet confirmed

We have not yet confirmed MDVIP's BBB rating or complaint history. The clean rating is provisional.

Who MDVIP fits

  • Fits: you want a yearly in-depth wellness program and plan to keep your insurance for the rest of your care [1].
  • Look elsewhere if you want a low fee and mostly virtual care: One Medical lists $199 a year [9].
  • Look elsewhere if you want to stop paying insurance cost-sharing for primary care: direct primary care usually runs $50 to $100 a month [12]. See direct primary care.

Questions people ask

How much does MDVIP cost per year?

MDVIP says its fee varies by locale and physician [1]. Three physician pages read on Oct 17, 2026 showed $2,250 (Phoenix, AZ), $2,400 (Arlington, TX) and $2,930 plus a $70 lab charge (Bronxville, NY) [2] [3] [4].

What does the MDVIP fee cover?

MDVIP says the fee pays for its annual Wellness Program of advanced screenings and diagnostic tests not typically covered by insurance. Other care is billed to Medicare or your insurance [1].

Does Medicare pay for MDVIP?

No. Medicare does not cover concierge membership fees, and a doctor who accepts assignment cannot use the fee to charge extra for Medicare-covered services [5]. Medicare still pays for covered care you get from the doctor.

Can I pay MDVIP monthly or quarterly?

MDVIP says fees can usually be paid quarterly, semi-annually or annually [1]. One Arlington, TX page listed $600 a quarter on a $2,400 fee [3].

Can I use my FSA or HSA for MDVIP?

MDVIP says the fee may be reimbursed through an FSA, MSA or similar account after you receive the wellness services, but not paid with an FSA card [7]. The IRS rule letting HSAs pay direct primary care fees excludes arrangements that bill insurance separately [8].

Is MDVIP better than One Medical?

They are different models. One Medical costs $199 a year for 24/7 messaging and video care, with visits billed to insurance [9]. MDVIP fees on three pages were $2,250 to $2,930 a year and pay for an annual wellness program [2] [4] [1].

How do I find an MDVIP doctor near me?

MDVIP lists each physician on mdvip.com, and each physician's page shows that doctor's annual fee [1].

Has MDVIP had an FDA warning letter or BBB complaints?

No FDA warning letter to MDVIP appears among the 68 letters in the Wellchosen Health tracker (December 2024 to September 2026). Its BBB record has not yet been confirmed.
