Denver's 65-plus residents and Medicare

Census figures put 12.5% of Denver residents at 65 or older [3]. For Part D members who qualify, the temporary Medicare GLP-1 Bridge pays for Wegovy pens and tablets, Foundayo and the Zepbound KwikPen with a $50 monthly copay until December 31, 2027 [2] [8]. Colorado Medicaid and private plans

KFF's January 2026 count did not include Colorado among Medicaid programs paying for obesity GLP-1s [4]. Commercial members whose plan covers Wegovy can use Novo's card to pay as little as $25, with savings capped at $100 a month [1]. Denver County's adult obesity rate, 21.6% in 2023, is low for a large city [9]. Nearby, the CU Anschutz Health and Wellness Center in Aurora runs physician-directed weight loss that pairs medication with behavior change and offers self-pay [10]. Read Wegovy and insurance.

Clinic-made semaglutide and license checks

Routine compounded copies of semaglutide lost FDA's 503A allowance on April 24, 2025 [11]. These products have no FDA approval or FDA review, and FDA has reports of hospitalizations after dosing mistakes with compounded injections [12]. The Colorado Medical Board licenses Denver physicians [13]. More: compounded semaglutide and the FDA warning letter tracker.
