Wegovy and Ozempic share an active ingredient but not a label. Wegovy covers chronic weight reduction and, for adults with heart disease plus obesity or overweight, a lower risk of heart attack, stroke and cardiovascular death ^[6]. The $199 starter price covers two fills of 0.25 and 0.5 mg for new patients through Dec 31, 2026 ^[1]. Orange County buyers can have NovoCare ship to the house or hold the order at one of more than 9,000 CVS stores, and Novo says over 70,000 pharmacies honor the offer ^[7]. Orlando seniors and the Medicare GLP-1 Bridge

Roughly 11.3% of Orlando residents are 65 or older ^[3]. For Part D enrollees who qualify, the Bridge covers Wegovy injection and tablets from July 1, 2026 through December 31, 2027 at a $50 copay per month ^[9]; Ozempic is not on its list ^[10]. Qualifying paths include a BMI of 35 or higher, or 27 or higher with prediabetes or a past heart attack or stroke ^[9]. Compounded semaglutide after the shortage

FDA declared the shortage resolved on February 21, 2025, and its enforcement discretion for 503A compounding pharmacies ran out on April 24, 2025 ^[11]. Compounded semaglutide has no FDA approval, and FDA does not judge its quality, effectiveness or safety; the agency counts 990 adverse event reports tied to it, some from dosing errors that put patients in the hospital ^[12].
